Church Members host progressive dinner on Feb 2nd
What could be better than food, friends, and "a Taste For Wine And
Murder"? That's what Becky Stage thought when she proposed a progressive
dinner to
the congregation. The rest was history !
The fun filled evening started with appetizers
and spirits at the McLaughlin's, then a wonderful choice of beef barley,
vegetable, and bean soup at Mary Bollenbach's, a scrumptious salad at the Maas',
a festive dinner at Becky and Bob Stage's house, and the grand
finale of dessert, coffee, and other goodies at Dina and Jeff Kamroski's
house.
The role playing mystery "a Taste For Wine And Murder" was the
perfect entertainment for the evening. As the story goes, five
years prior, Barry
Underwood,
owner of the prestigious Underwood Wine Estates, mysteriously
disappeared during the valley’s annual wine festival. A massive search
at the time failed to turn up any clues and the case has been in the
FBI’s unsolved files since then. Now, five years later, it is once again
the annual wine festival in Napa Valley. Family and friends gathered at
the stately Underwood mansion to celebrate. At midnight, a minor
earthquake shook the mansion, causing an old wooden floor in the wine
cellar to buckle. Barry’s well preserved body was discovered under the
cedar planks !!
With the likes of Marilyn Merlot (Karen), Papa Vito (Bob), Ralph
Rottengrape (Bill), Bonnie Lass, Tiny Bubbles(Leonore), Agent Bud Wizer
(Steve), Hedy Shablee (Mary), and Otto Von Schnapps (Lee) --- no one was
innocent and in fact there were many suspicious characters right up
until the end. I knew it was Papa Vito all along !
I wonderful time was had by all and we look forward to our next
progressive dinner !
