First Presbyterian Church in Florida, NY Welcomes Rev. George R.
Doering, Jr.
On February 6, 2011 the Historic First
Presbyterian Church in Florida, New York welcomed the Rev. George R. Doering, Jr. as its most recent Minister since its founding back in
1741.
Rev. Doering is a graduate of Bloomfield College
with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Princeton Theological Seminary
with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in American Church
History. He was
Ordained in the United Presbyterian Church U.S.A. on June 11, 1965.
Prior to ordination and while attending college and seminary
he served as the Student Assistant Minister of the First Presbyterian
Church of Whippany, N.J.
After graduation from Princeton Seminary he served as the Associate
Minister of The First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, N.J from 1965 to
1971. From 1971 to 1975 he
was the Minister of The First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, N.Y. and
from 1977 until 2008 the Minister (part time) of The Little
Britain Presbyterian Church, Rock Tavern, N.Y.
